Hyperbleed is a group exhibition with works by contemporary female artists working across sculpture, print, digital media, and video. The exhibition investigates the production, circulation, and manipulation of images. The artist’s role in reality-making has recently been challenged and reshaped by technologies such as AI. The participating artists respond to this shift with critical insight, surfing on the border between fact and fiction.

Martyna Marciniak’s video dissects the anatomy of “non-fact” through the viral image of the Pope wearing a Balenciaga puffer jacket. The artist sewed the jacket herself, bringing fiction into reality, and analyses how image construction can become a tool of political manipulation. Aistė Marija Stankevičiūtė’s sculptures of black voids resemble reality glitches or obsidian mirrors, giving a glimpses into other realms. Aleksandra Cieślawicz’s series depicting cloud busters reflects on narratives surrounding weather manipulation and pseudoscientific endeavours to control nature. Finally, Sarah Friend’s work explores the economy of images—particularly those of women—where the boundary between generated and photographic imagery appears increasingly irrelevant. In a series of AI-generated nudes requested by her “art collectors,” she examines automation, value fabrication and the notion of “self-selling” as an artist.

Solaris

Solaris is a project space and workshop run by an artist collective working with new media. It is a small but versatile space that holds meetings, screenings and exhibitions. Named after Stanisław Lem’s novel, Solaris is a place for exploring our relationship with the more-than-human world. Solaris values Berlin’s intercultural scene and feminist mindset. The space was founded in 2020 and serves as a platform for community, experimentation, and the development of progressive projects.

One of the main objectives of Solaris is to maintain a community of friends and to be a welcoming and open space. Solaris celebrates a hands-on approach, provides a framework for independent cultural productions and fosters exchange between the artists.
